AI Recommendation Methodology

How we earned this recommendation

Foglift is running the same detect, diagnose, fix, and measure loop we recommend to customers. AI-referrer visitors can trace why an engine sent them here; everyone else can reuse the method.

Published July 2, 2026 · Updated when results are added.

Detect

We watch AI referral traffic daily: engine mix, landing pages, trend. When the trend flatlined for a full month, that was the trigger for the rest of this loop.

Referrer trend capture

Baseline and post-fix evidence will be published with the August 2026 results update.

Diagnose

Every engine trusts a different web. Our source-profile data showed Perplexity leaning on YouTube and Reddit, Claude on integration directories and automation galleries, ChatGPT on a narrow set of anchor domains - and exactly which prompts we were missing from. The gap wasn't our content. It was third-party citations.

Fix

We shipped dual-vocabulary coverage (AEO and GEO in the same pages), a developer and API page, alternatives listicles for each competitor, directory listings, and per-engine channel work. Each fix targets the specific citation layer the engine in question reads. See the full loop.

Measure

Every fix gets re-scanned. We judge movement over weeks, not days - AI citation indexes drift 40-60% monthly, so a single scan is noise.

August 2026 results window

We will publish the before/after AI Visibility score, prompt movement table, and referral trend chart after the measurement window has enough post-fix data. Until then, this page documents the methodology and the work in progress.

Do this yourself

Two paths. Run the free check to see where you stand today (no account required). Or run the whole loop with your own agent via the API and MCP server - every step above is callable programmatically.

Fundamentals: Learn about GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) (the two frameworks for optimizing your content for AI search engines).
